We can provide while you wait MOT's by appointment in a hourly time allocation system. We have a comfortable seated waiting area. Free re-testing is provided within 10 working days.

Is your Air Con Cold Enough?

Air Con is for your comfort, it provides a comfortable environment inside your car.
However 10% of the gas leaks out of the system every year.
It is recommended that your Air Con System is serviced every two years.
If your Air Con is not working efficiently it uses more fuel.
Over time bacteria can build up in the system and this can cause bad/musty odours. It can also cause flu like symptoms.

Carlton Car Centre can now offer a full Air Con Service for £50 + VAT

This can be done at the same time as your MOT and Service or can be booked into another hourly slot.
Our technicians are fully trained to use the latest equipment.

What's Involved:
Vacuum and check entire system for leaks
Gases, air and moisture are removed from the system
The system is given a treatment to eliminate bacteria.
Cabin temperature is checked
System is fully re gassed & de-neutralised

When to have a service??

Cars have to be services in order to keep them running correctly and efficiently.
The handbook will advise you on when to have your car serviced.
However, The type of service you require depends on the use of your car. Lots of small journeys will require more frequent oil changes.
We recommend having some kind of service annually.
If you do more than 10,000 miles in a year we recommend a full service.
If you do less than 10,000 miles in a year we recommend an interim service.
We recommend a Full service at least every two years in order to keep a check on brakes.


Cars with full service history will have a greater value than cars without.

Change engine oil
Replace engine oil filter, Spark plugs, air filter.
Check all levels and top up as necessary - brake fluid, power steering fluid, screenwash, battery(excluding low maintenance), coolong system, manual gear box oil, automatic transmission oil, antifreeze.
Check condition of glass, headlamps & Light lenses & mirrors. Operation of horn, operation of windscreen washer jets, condition of wiper blades. Operation of handbrake, condition of hydraulic circuits including checking for leaks. Condition of rubber boot & gaitors, brake pad wear, brake shoe wear including wheel cylinder for leaks. Condition and pressure of tyres, condition of pollen filters, operation of lights and indicators. Play in hubs, link rods, ball joints and flexible mountings, shock obsorbers for leaks.
